Peace Corps News: Peace Corps Returns to Rwanda

The Rwandan government has invited the Peace Corps back to help it meet its Vision 2020. The goals are:

• to reconstruct the nation and its social capital
• develop a credible and efficient state governed by the rule of law
• develop human resources in line with the objective to turn Rwanda into a prosperous knowledge-based economy
• develop basic infrastructure including urban planning
• develop entrepreneurship and the private sector
• and modernize agriculture and animal husbandry

Pretty cool! I wonder how the country is doing in terms of ethnic relations between Tutsis and Hutus, both in power in government and on the street? More on that once I look into it..
